Les Trois Vallees is home to eight ski resorts that are all linked by an extensive lift system and a myriad of ski runs. The 3 valleys are made up of Saint-Ban (better known as Courcheval and La Tania), Allues (Méribel & Bride-les-Bains) and Belleville (Val Thorens, Les Menuires and St Martin de Belleville)
There is now a fourth arena, the Maurienne Valley that sits behind Val Thorens where you can ski down to Orelle.
This vast skiers paradise boasts over 600km of groomed pistes. With mountain peaks rising to 3,300 metres the snow cover is often the envy of other resorts, even in late April. However with 550 snow cannons covering more than 350 acres of home runs there is always plenty of snow throughout the season.
We recommend that beginners buy a Méribel Valley lift pass and although there is plenty of skiing in the Méribel valley the more experienced skiers should buy a 3 valley lift pass.
Around the Altiport you will find plenty of green runs, many lined with fir trees which make them ideal for beginners. It is a great area for children who are just learning to ski to gain confidence on the wider pistes. There are also a pretty green run down to Mottaret on the opposite side of the valley.
Just above Altiport is Saulire which offers a mixture of steeper blues and reds. You can catch the lift to Saulire and for the less experienced skiers hop out at the mid station. On the Tougnete side of the valley there is a vast number of reds, blues and blacks. There are also 2 snowparks for both skiers and snowboarders.
If you find yourself restricted to the Méribel Valley then there is still plenty of skiing to enjoy. Mont du Vallon offers the most dramatic scenery with two long steep reds to admire it.
Meriski offers a complimentary ski guide to offer advice on when and where to ski and will guide your party to some great runs that even the Méribel fanatics may not have thought of!
